OligoMaster gives you the possibility of choosing between keeping your oligonucleotides private from others or sharing them with other users of the database. Common oligonucleotides such as sequencing primers do not need to be entered by each user of the database. This unique sharing feature allows all the users of the same database to view shared oligonucleotides, considerably improving the collaborative work of your research group.
A permanent record
The turnover of people working in a laboratory can sometimes be really fast and it can be extremely difficult to keep track of an oligonucleotide after somebody's departure. OligoMaster lets you keep a permanent record of all oligonucleotides ordered in your laboratory and easily retrieve key information, including experimental conditions for a particular oligonucleotide. Quickly locating an important oligonucleotide enables you to start your experiment promptly and avoid the wasted time and expense of having to reorder it.
Scriptable calculation
OligoMaster has built-in automatic calculation of values, allowing you to enter sequence and OD260 value and have all other values calculated from these. But it doesn't tie you to one way of doing this - the calculation is entirely scriptable, which means that you can, if you wish, have some or all of your calculations done using different algorithms. You can either write the custom script yourself, using the supplied one as a model, or have one written for you by LaboratoryMaster.
Multi-user, multi-platform
OligoMaster can run either in single workstation mode, or in client-server (multi-user) mode, where multiple OligoMaster clients can remotely connect to a single database over the network, thereby increasing the productivity of your research team. OligoMaster can run on Windows, Macintosh and Linux, which gives you complete flexibility and does not restrict the execution of the software to a dedicated computer in your laboratory. Furthermore, the multi-user version can run on any combination of these platforms, so you can mix Windows and Mac clients, while running on a Linux server - or whatever arrangement is convenient for your laboratory.
